Locke and Load

We’ve had issues with Locke and right now we’re trying to see if we can’t keep her.

I stepped on a kitten hidden under my bedding and it screamed, Locke attacked me. She proceeded to attack me four more times. One time when I was sitting down on my bed 7 hours later after leaving her alone to calm down all day.

I’ve had to keep her in a cage and away from the kittens. I wanted to wait ‘til 8 weeks but they’re going to have to go to forever homes early. Probably only this weekend, though… which is 7 weeks, so not too bad.

I’m getting her spayed in the morning. I’m really praying this works out. We’re hoping the spaying and getting rid of the kittens will calm her down to where she’ll stop attacking us.

Sawyer bit me when I was trying to get a photo of her and how puffy she is.

But I still loves her, she was just scared. My little puff ball :3

Oh, she didn’t really hurt me in the photo where she’s biting me, I just thought it was funny so I made a stupid face.

We changed Helen’s name to Veruca, or I did. We shall call her Roo. It is good.

Kitten spam :) Too tired to make a real post.

All the kittens are precious, but Sawyer looks super cute in this picture. Winston just looks blurry.
Winston is a bit more outgoing, they’re all friendly but Sawyer likes to watch what’s going on a lot, I think. She always has such a cute expression, though.

I’ve got a box full of kittens. They’re four weeks and a day old today!

Juna is definitely camera friendly. The others are cute, but Juna seems to know when she needs to look the cutest.

My heart melts whenever I look at this picture. My girls are too beautiful!

The babies are too cute, for real.

Bath day wasn’t super fun, for any of us.

Poor Juna had to be bathed twice ‘cause I washed her the night before then realized she’d picked up fleas through the night and decided to just attempt to nip it in the bud. They still have some fleas, but I’ll probably wait a week before subjecting them to it again.

The photo of Sawyer is from halfway through me blowdrying her. I was blowing opposite of the way her fur lays so she got lots of extra volume, haha.

The photo of Locke I just think is funny, she was not a happy camper.

So my friend wanted to try to catch Nona’s (the kitten I previously mentioned Here) siblings.

The other night some friends and I pulled into the parking lot we found Nona in, and Nona’s siblings were eating on a chicken bone. We snuck up on them and the other girl grabbed the black one but as it scratched she threw it down… but that renewed my other friend’s interest in trying to catch the kittens when she heard it (I caught Nona on a whim as soon as I saw her weeks ago when she was younger, and I was lucky she didn’t put up a fight).

We went out last night with flashlights and I spotted the dark kitten, we didn’t see the other one that I think is a little lighter than Nona. We chased the dark kitten around and finally it stopped to get some water and I snuck up behind and grabbed it.

I should’ve scruffed it, but it flipped out and I was fighting so hard to keep hold of it even though it was trying to gnaw off my finger that I couldn’t get a grip on it. At one point I probably made it angrier ‘cause it probably thought I was trying to choke it (I was grabbing the back of it’s neck trying to get it to where it couldn’t flail or bite but when it couldn’t bite it would scratch ‘til it could get back to biting me.

It went to town on my pointer finger, both hands are cut up… but we have the kitten. I’m super paranoid about contracting some sort of illness, but hopefully I won’t.

This kitten was also sick, like Nona… and is getting Nona’s leftover medicine. As soon as it realized we weren’t going to hurt it it let us hold it and actually did pretty good being bathed (it smelled terrible… like… I’ve never known a cat to smell that bad). It let us hold it and I think it’s going to be a good cat once it gets used to the idea that people aren’t going to hurt it and that now it won’t have to scrounge to survive.

When I saw it and it’s sibling eating the chicken bone after seeing how Nona plays I found it so sad… you can tell they worry about survival while Nona just has fun being a kitten… but now this one can too.

It’s a gorgeous cat, gorgeous brown color… it’s so dark it looks black but it’s shades of chocolate brown. It’s going to go to the vet in the next day or two when my friend takes it.

I don’t recommend trying to catch cats on your own like I did… especially with no gloves. And it’s probably best to use humane traps…  But at least we got another kitten off the streets :)

I posted a photo of Nona now that she’s healthy because when this kitten is fixed up it’s going to look like a gorgeous brown version of Nona, you can tell they’re siblings with their big ears and eyes and even their nose shape.
